"All knowledge is worth having."
- quote from the Kushiel Legacy series
by West Michigan author Jacqueline Carey
We believe that reading is a key component of education in every subject. Not only do we learn by reading facts in nonfiction, but we also learn through imagination when reading fictional stories. Reading helps us form a sense of self and an understanding of how we exist together in the world. We support educators at every learning level in encouraging students to develop a love of reading.

If you work in education - whether you're an administrator, teacher, parapro, bus driver, or food service, you are eligible to $20 in Book Credit at every visit, applied to anything in store following usual book credit rules. You also receive 10% off everything in store, in addition to credit.
02
Sticker Club
Let's be honest, we've all been looking for something that will incentivize kids year round like that personal pan pizza did for us. Starting in September 2024, Bluestocking Bookshop is offering a Sticker Club incentive - sign up for the school year and you'll receive our monthly coupon page that you can print as needed to reward monthly reading accomplishment. Every reader gets to pick a vinyl sticker from our shop with that coupon, great for decorating water bottles, electronics, notebooks, and more!

(Also, this is an all ages thing, so you can play too!)
03
OOTL Grant Partner
In 2021, we started a partnership with our local LGBTQIA+ community center, Out on the Lakeshore for a mini-grant program. With applications in summer, you can apply to receive a year of curated book boxes for your students, at a $250-500 value. Each box celebrates diversity and inclusion in our communities in ways you idenitify as best for the needs of your classroom.

Applications are open until August 19th, 2024.

Wishlists and Registries
Your account in store comes with the ability to build a wishlist - this means we'll keep an eye out for used books that come in and will contact you when they do.

If you'd like to create a registry for new books that can be shared to parents and other organizations, visit Bookshop.org and set up your registry in partnership with Bluestocking!

Gift Card Drawings
No one wants a pocketful of coins anymore - our donation jar is now going in support of educators every month! Each time you shop with us each month, your name enters our monthly educator gift card drawing. We will award gift cards to our shop of course, but will also have months with gift cards from other supportive businesses, including for local coffee, gift shops, restaurants, services, and more!
