Poetry, Family, and the Stories We Carry

The holidays are approaching, which means many of us will soon be spending quality time with the people who made us who we are, the people who know exactly how to push our buttons, and the people we love dearly despite having very complicated feelings about all of the above. So we’re going to write poetry about it.

Join us at Bluestocking on October 24 at 2pm for an afternoon with Michigan poet Marissa LaPorte, author of Dead Grandmas Are Universal, her poetry collection exploring family, memory, grief, relationships, identity, and all the complicated emotional territory that comes with being a person who has other people in their life.
